Chinese sanitary ware factories have dug gold in the ASEAN market

According to statistics, from January to September 2014, the top ten trading countries and shares of China's ceramic brick exports accounted for 42.43% of the total export volume, followed by Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, the United States, Nigeria, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and the Philippines. In recent years, with the continuous anti-dumping in European and American countries, the market share of sanitary ware products exported to these regions is decreasing year by year. From the export sanitary ware market share, it can be seen that ASEAN sanitary ware market is becoming a new blue ocean.
Low price exports encounter anti-dumping
In recent years, India, South Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, the European Union, Argentina, Brazil and other countries have successively launched anti-dumping on China's sanitary ware export products, and China's sanitary ware industry has lost a lot of market share in the local market. At the same time, global sanitary ware producing areas are blooming everywhere. Countries and regions including Brazil, the Middle East, Turkey, India and Russia have developed local sanitary ware industry, and the production lines are more advanced. In the first three quarters of 2014, the export volume of traditional sanitary ware export markets in China, Europe and South America decreased significantly, with a year-on-year decrease of 30.81% and 26.18% respectively, which suffered a huge impact.
China building materials Yearbook once pointed out that what restricts the development of building and sanitary ceramics is the industrial structure and export factory structure. The export quantity of sanitary ware is huge, but the export products lack international well-known brands, and the technical content and added value are low; Most sanitary ware factories do not have the right to import and export, and the export depends on foreign trade commercial factories; Many and scattered trade export factories have no price voice in the international market. They can only profit from price competition and increasing export volume. Therefore, foreign countries will inevitably release various technical trade measures and set up trade barriers on the grounds of anti-dumping. Anti dumping has now become a normal problem.
ASEAN bathroom market becomes a gold rush
Emerging African markets have developed rapidly. Nigeria has become the country with the largest export of sanitary ware in Africa for many consecutive years. In 2012 and the first three quarters of 2014, Nigeria occupied the fifth and sixth of the top ten export destinations respectively. In 2013, China's sanitary ware market continued to expand in Africa, and South Africa entered the top ten export countries of China's sanitary ware for the first time. From January to September 2014, in terms of export growth, China's sanitary ware exports to Africa and Asia recovered from negative growth in the first half of the year to positive growth. Among them, the year-on-year growth rate in the African market reached 11.4%. The development of African economy provides a good opportunity for China's ceramic tile export, and the African market will be further expanded in the next few years.
Geographical location of ASEAN countries
The ASEAN market has developed rapidly in recent years. In the first three quarters of 2014, ASEAN accounted for half of the top ten export destinations of sanitary ware in China, and jointly accounted for 22.5%, reaching more than one fifth of the export share. Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and other countries often appear in China's top ten sanitary ware export destination countries every year. China's sanitary ware export to Southeast Asia shows an increasing trend every year.
Industry insiders said that 2015 will be an inflection point in the ASEAN market. ASEAN countries will form a seamless cooperative relationship, greatly enhance the space for trade development, and have a great attraction to the capital of China, Japan, South Korea, Europe and other countries. The zero tariff policy of China ASEAN Free Trade Area will also encourage China's sanitary ware industry to rush for gold in the ASEAN market.
